Appearance

Language

Choose the language of the app. The default follows your device. You can help translate the app on Weblate.

Theme

System, Dark or Light.

App Icon

Pick one of the alternative launcher icons. The app closes after the change and the icon might take a moment to update.

Accents

Pick the accent color: Material You (dynamic colors from your wallpaper, on supported devices), Blue, Red, Green, Purple, Yellow, Orange or Monochrome.

High contrast

A pure black / white theme.

Hide thumbnails

Hide the thumbnails in Home, Downloads and the Download queue. Useful to make the lists more compact and to save data.

Modify download card

Choose which elements are visible in the Download Card: Schedule, Title, Author, Container, Adjust audio, Adjust video, Adjust templates and URL.

Display over apps

Make the download card always display on top. Turn this on if the currently running app closes when the download card shows up from the Share Menu.

YouTube

Video recommendations

Fill the home screen with videos. See Home. Depending on the source you can set an API key or a custom URL.

Data fetching extractor (YouTube)

yt-dlp or NewPipe. See YouTube.

Formats source

Where the formats of YouTube videos come from, NewPipe or yt-dlp.

Use item URL instead of playlist URL

Playlist metadata won't be embedded with this enabled.

Miscellaneous

Quick Action Button

What the button on the cards of the Downloads screen does: Share or Open File.

Preferred locale

The country used by NewPipe and the YouTube API to get trending / recommended videos.

Preferred home screen

The screen that opens when you launch the app: Home, Downloads, Download queue or More.

Navigation bar

Reorder and show or hide the items of the navigation bar.

Label visibility

When the navigation bar labels show: Always, only on the Selected item or Never.

Preferred search engine

The website used for searches typed in Home: YouTube, YouTube Music, SoundCloud, Bilibili, PRX Series, PRX Stories, Rokfin or Netverse.

Check clipboard in the home screen

Automatically detect URLs in the clipboard in the home screen.

Search suggestions

Get search suggestions from Google while typing.

Swipe gestures

Choose where swiping an item does something (Downloads, In queue, Cancelled, Scheduled, Errored, Saved, Command templates, Cookies, Multiple download card).

Swipe gestures in download card

Swipe horizontally in the download card to switch between audio, video and command.

Show terminal in share menu

Adds the Terminal as an option in the share sheet.

Show option to download immediately in the share menu

Adds an option in the share sheet that starts the download immediately without showing the card.

Show counts in the download queue screen

Shows the number of items in each tab of the Download Queue.

Ignore battery optimization

Opens the Android setting to exclude the app from battery optimization, so downloads and observe sources keep running in the background.

Reset

Resets every preference in this screen.
